This research paper was a self-guided inquiry for the WRIT3751W Seminar: Theory and Practice of Writing Consultancy, a required course for all new hires at the Center for Writing. The assignment challenged me to think critically about issues that I’ve seen in our practice, learn why they occur, and posit an original solution.

This research proposal for a grant writing course examines how a partnership between a local food pantry and the University of Minnesota’s student food pantry would increase students’ health and academic success.

This final report provides an overview of a group-designed user testing project for the City of Saint Paul Office of Technology and Communications. It includes our steps for designing the tests, an interpretation of the results, and recommendations for future changes to the website design.

As a former biology student, I've always been fascinated with the biological and medical  aspects of technical writing. I have a particular interest in the accessibility and inclusivity of this information.

Long blocks of medical text can be difficult to interpret and are often written for or based in studies centered on white, cisgender, heterosexual people. This sample demonstrates my design capabilities through a simple, accessible brochure.
